Tabs, groups, and splits
A Calyx window is structured as three layers: groups → tabs → splits (panes).

Double-click a tab to rename it. Drag tabs in the tab bar or sidebar to reorder them.
Groups
Section titled “Groups”Groups are containers that hold tabs. There are 10 color presets, and groups can be collapsed or expanded from the sidebar using the chevron.

Double-click a group heading in the sidebar to rename it.
Splits
Section titled “Splits”You can split a tab horizontally or vertically to lay out multiple panes.

Focus moves by direction (left, right, up, down), which stays intuitive even with complex layouts.
Session restore
Section titled “Session restore”When you quit Calyx, the open tabs, splits, and working directory for each tab are saved. On the next launch, the state is restored so you can pick up where you left off.
