Terms of Use

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Calyx is open-source software distributed under the MIT License. These terms set out the conditions under which Calyx (the “Software”) may be used.

Use, copying, modification, and redistribution of the Software are governed by the MIT License. The full text appears on the License page.

The Software is provided “AS IS”. The copyright holders and providers disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

The copyright holders and providers are not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Software. This applies regardless of legal theory — contract, tort, or otherwise.

You are responsible for:

  • installing and configuring the Software on your machines
  • safely handling data accessed through the Software
  • complying with the terms of any third-party services or tools used alongside the Software (AI agents, language servers, web services, etc.)

Calyx uses several open-source projects, notably libghostty (MIT License). Each dependency is governed by its own copyright holders’ license terms. See the License page for details.

These terms may be updated without prior notice in response to feature changes or legal requirements. Updated terms take effect when published on this help site.
